A guide to children's literature including resources at the State Library and elsewhere
To find recent Australian and overseas educational books for children search the Library catalogue. Enter terms such as biography OR conservation OR environment or other non fiction keyword, then click Search.
Scroll down the left hand column to refine your results.
At SLV collection choose Children's to see only children's books in your results list.
To refine your search further scroll down to Creation date and click the range you are interested in.
In the middle of that search screen you can sort your result list by newest date first.
Children's book awards are a way of acknowledging excellence in publishing and recent educational books reflect the importance of visual literacy in this field. For example, you can link to a list of children's book winners of the Wilderness Society Environmental Award
Books about electronic resources and pedagogy can be found in the Redmond Barry Reading Room, for example E-literature for children: enhancing digital literacy learning (2006).
In line with the stage 3 restrictions announced by the Premier, State Library Victoria closed on Thursday 9 July.
