This research guide provides advice about where to find and how to use Western Australian Government publications.
The Western Australian Government gazette has been an online only publication from 1 April 2021, available through the Western Australian Legislation website. The Western Australian industrial gazette is available from the Western Australian Industrial Relations Commission. The Western Australian police gazette is accessible through the State Library of Western Australia website.
The Western Australian legislation (The Government Western Australia Department of Justice Parliamentary Council's Office) website provides access to a PDF version of the gazettes from 1836 until present. There are special and general editions of the gazette published. Each edition is published as soon as possible after a print copy is released. Individual notice are available from 1 Jan 2002. Access to the gazette indexes from 1836-2019 are also available.
The Western Australian Industrial Relations Commission website provides access to the Western Australian industrial gazette from 1901 onwards.
The Western Australian police gazette records are not available through the State Library Victoria but through the State Library of WA online from 1876 -1900. Indexes were compiled for each year of the gazette, however the year 1878, 1879, 1897, 1898 are not available.
