Since 12 February 2008, the Queensland Parliament combined the Parliamentary Debates and the Votes & Proceedings (minutes) into one publication called the Record of Proceedings.
The Votes and proceedings and the Journals of the Queensland Parliament record the actions of the Parliament. They can be described as the minutes of proceedings of the Parliament. This is distinct from what is said in Parliament which is recorded in the parliamentary debates (commonly known as Hansard).
Over time the title of this publication has changed from Votes and proceedings to Journals and back again. When Queensland had both a Legislative Assembly and a Legislative Council (abolished in 1922), the minutes of proceedings of the Legislative Assembly were usually called Votes and proceedings and those of the Legislative Council were usually called Journals.
