Explore the free assistive technology available at State Library Victoria.

What else is at the assistive technology zones?

As well as computers with specialised software installed, all of the Library's assistive technology zones have:

  • large screen monitors.
  • different mice (track-ball or joystick).
  • large print keyboards (suitable for low vision).
  • an A3 guide, in large print, of keyboard commands for the software.
  • headphones with microphones.
  • height adjustable desks.
  • footrests.

  • assistance animal water bowl.

More assistive equipment is available in the Information Centre cabinet. Please ask staff for assistance.

Braille House Library

The Braille House Library [new window] provides free resources to Australians of all ages who are blind or have low vision. Borrow books, magazines, games and more in alternative formats—delivered free via Australia Post for up to 60 days.

Dementia Australia Library

Vision Australia Library

Membership is free and available to people who have Australian Residence and a print disability. Join on the Vision Australia website [new window].

Vision Australia Children and Youth Library

Vision Australia Feelix Children's Library

Your local library

Many public libraries have books in alternative formats, such as Large Print and audio.
