Discover and read electronic books available at the State Library Victoria
To search for ebooks see tips on our Finding ebooks page. Any items with digital content will have an Available online link. The ebook catalogue record's Access Online section includes a link to this instructional guide and a link to view online.
If the link under the Access online section says 'Oxford Academic Books', it will open in the Oxford Academic platform.
Once you click View ebook, you will be prompted to log in with your valid library member number and accept the conditions of access.

From the ebook table of contents, click on the title of the section to to open the book in the ebook reader, or View chapter to open a specific chapter.
Once you have opened a chapter, you can read, search and navigate to other parts of the chapter, or the next chapter:
On the main page of the ebook, there are options to download the book as an EPUB or PDF. You can also download individual PDF chapters and print or store these files.
You can then read the PDF file offline on your compatible device - computer, mobile or supported ereader.
To download a book from Oxford Academic, click on the PDF link on the ebook contents page to download the entire book:
To download individual chapters, scroll down to the books contents and click on View chapter.
Once you have opened the chapter, click on the PDF link to download the chapter:
