This guide identifies resources relevant to the VCE History - Revolutions units
This guide will assist you to locate relevant resources for your study of VCE History: Revolutions.
The guide highlights books and articles that can be accessed online. Our Library also has extensive print resources relating to the American, French, Russian and Chinese revolutions. Details on how to find these books on the Library shelves are also included on each tab.
On each page there is a section on different perspectives and interpretations historians have applied to each of the revolutions. It is important to read a wide variety of different perspectives on your chosen revolution. Ensure that you are reading both scholarly interpretations and contemporary primary sources that were written at the time to arrive at a more fully rounded understanding.
The Alpha history site has been developed to support VCE students and includes overviews of each of the VCE Revolutions topics. The site also has pages on historical perspectives, highlighting specific historians.
To access much of the online information you will need a State Library Victoria membership. This is free and you can join online. There is no membership card. You will receive a member number.
Many links on this guide are to the online resources our Library subscribes to. When you click on such links you will be asked to enter your member number or email address, and your password.
