The Weekly Times featured many photos of Victorian soldiers who served in the A.I.F. during World War I. This newspaper also published many photos of those killed or injured.

You can search and view the Weekly Times for the war years 1914 to 1918 on the Trove website. Go straight to the Weekly Times page and type in the rank and surname of the soldier to see whether there is a photograph or a mention in an article. It is best to use inverted commas around the name, for example "Private Troon" brings up a photo of this soldier. You can also do keyword and advanced searches.
An online index to the Weekly Times can also be found in the State Library Australiana Index The "Construct a Search" option lets you search by title of the newspaper in one search box with a name or keyword in the next search box. This is an index only, but may help with finding dates of articles.
